Elementary/Middle School Program

Student Opportunities

  • Farmers Market

On Saturdays students have the opportunity to work at the farmers market by selling brown eggs, goat meat, chicken products and On-The-Rise apparel. Students learn social skills, business skills and earn a paycheck for their work!

  • Gardening

Every spring our kids redesign our garden, decide what they want to grow and plant away! All crops produced go to our kids and their families. In addition, Master Gardeners hires our students to grow pepper plants, once peppers are cultivated our kids get paid!

  • Summer Program

After school lets out, students get one week off from program and then summer program begins! We have a packed full summer of educational and fun field trips, summer market, and garden harvest!

Animal Care

Through raising goats and chickens, our students gain many employability skills such as responsibility and work ethic. The students learn about how to care for them throughout their lifespan, how to feed and groom them, and how to administer medical care when necessary.

Reaching Our Goals

When entering the program, each student identifies areas to improve on for their specific needs. As a team, we provide support and work together to help them achieve these goals.

Cooking/Baking

While in the On-The-Rise program, we work together in the kitchen to create balanced meals. We emphasize the importance of a healthful and nourishing lifestyle through MyPlate and use a multi-sensory approach by utilizing math skills, reading, and team building exercises.
