June

This June, we’ve enjoyed several fun events with one another! We began our Kickoff to Summer Reading program with Miss Maggie from the New Carlisle Library.

The girls partook in a tea party where they created a whimsical fairy garden together.

The boys held a worm race.

Both groups had the opportunity to pick themselves out a book to read during our Summer Reading Program.

Both groups had their annual tour of Springfield—where they visited various historical sites around the Springfield area. Here are the boys enjoying their tour of the Hartman Rock Garden.

Here are our girls having dinner together downtown.

On Wednesday the 15th, the 4-H’ers participated in their county fair’s Skill-a-thon—an interview-like session where they demonstrate their skills and knowledge about their goat and turkey projects. After many weeks of studying and hard work doing their books and Skill-a-thon prep, their hard work paid off! They were awarded ribbons for their efforts. Congratulations to a job well done!

On Saturday the 18th, we celebrated our 20 year reunion. We had a great turnout—various members of the community came to show their support! We want to extend a thank you to everyone in attendance and those of you who helped to make this possible including: Greg Kaffenbarger, Dwyane Lambert, our board members, and author Mary Wells.

On Wednesday, the 29th, the boys visited the Carriage Hills Historical Farm and compared farming from the 1880s to now.

On Thursday, June 30th, the girls took a tour of the Fish Farm of Urbana Ohio. We got to see various aquatic species and interact with them. It was a fun and educational experience for everyone!
